Description of Works:

NEXTDC A1 Data Centre is a leading-edge facility certified with the highest Uptime Tier IV rating, ensuring maximum availability, stability, and fault resilience. O’Connors were engaged to complete all the mechanical services works for this new state-of-the-art building.

The facility contains three levels of data halls which are supported by the roof-mounted thermal plant. Cooling of the facility is provided by high-efficiency, water-cooled systems as well as free cooling methods such as airside and water-side cooling. This state-of-the-art thermal management system ensures energy efficiency and uninterrupted cooling, even in the event of component failures or during routine maintenance shutdowns.

O’Connors designed, prefabricated, and installed innovative prefabrication methods for the Chilled water plantroom ‘Chiller module’ (including Chiller, Plat Heat Exchanger, Pumps, switchboard, Cooling Tower, and associated pipe fittings), main Chilled water header and pipework risers. Our team also implemented a comprehensive commissioning regime which was completed meticulously, with each of the 5 stages undertaken to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with Uptime’s rigorous requirements.
